The Coleman box had juice and sandwiches. We had a thermos of water. A video camera and a digital camera, and a bag with extra clothes, towels, chips and a fan.

Were we going on a picnic? No! There was a big event in my son’s school that day.

I was glad and relieved I brought our own food. Everybody was buying something in the canteen, which didn’t have that many healthy choices anyway, and I bet the prices were a little too steep. We, on the other hand, stayed in our seats and opened our bags whenever we got hungry. Fellow parents were looking at me as I lugged our Coleman, and they must be thinking, “I wish we did the same!”

Look at all these people. There was a mad rush towards the stage to get a good picture of the children. It was impossible for us to make our way in front. What to do?

Hubby went on the second floor of the school building. Oh, the video of our son was perfect, no heads going up and down the screen!

O nga naman. Makikipagsiksikan ka dun, hindi mo pa din makuhanan ng maayos. Solong-solo sya dun sa second floor. Zoom lang ang katapat ano? hehe.

Good thinking, Cess. One good way to bring healthy food…and you know they are clean since you prepared them yourself.

Hi Cess. Great thinking. It’s always nice to bring your own healthy snack with you. Glad your hubby found a good position to take video of the school event.

    Galing naman ninyo!

No healthy choices? Why? In my daughter’s school they do not sell chips and soda to the elem grades.

We always bring food too. And arrive early during programs to get a good seat :D
