I Did Some Planting
I am supposed to give basil plants to Imom and Mai. I don’t remember the others I promised to give plants to, so I prepared extra pots, just in case.
I took this as an opportunity to make a little experiment. I have learned that it’s easy to grow basil from seed, but I want to see if I can grow basil from a stem cutting. The two pots beside the cuttings contain basil seeds.

I also planted flat-leaf parsley seeds on those two pots in front. I have more seeds to plant in more pots, but I think I have to buy markers first lest I get confused.
Remember my bitter gourds and the teepee my husband set up for them?

It took a lot of effort to help the plant climb the wooden sticks, but they keep falling down. I think they need a trellis with a more complicated design or thinner sticks, both of which we cannot do - for now. So I’m uprooting all the ampalaya plants, then I will cook Ginisang Monggo (Sauteed Mung Beans). Yum!
But the teepee is not for naught. About two weeks ago, I sowed one Baguio beans (also known as green beans) seed in the ampalaya’s pot. Look at her now.

Now, this is what I have envisioned! Teepees of climbing veggies. I will soon replace the ampalaya with green beans. Can’t wait to see them grow!

Cess! Ang galing-galing naman! Ako, walang ka-talent-talent sa ganyan. Lahat ng hawakan kong halaman, namamatay. Imagine, pati cactus na low-maintenance, napatay ko pa?

And you call yourself a novice gardener?? Ikaw talaga, you’re so humble! Dear, you have some of the most beautiful plants I’ve ever seen. Pareho kayo ni Papa na me green thumb! Hats off to you!
Pareho kami ni Mitch, walang nabubuhay sa mga kamay ko na halaman. I’m not really cut out for it. I’m just there to appreciate

You definitely have green thumbs. You can use popsicle sticks for markers. Use a marker pen to write on them.
