What This Girl Wants
My daughter is turning 4 next year, and should be ready by then to go to nursery school. But hubby and I mulled over the idea of sending her to school when she’s already 5, even 6.
You see, my son went through all 3 levels of preschool. But he had the same lessons for 3 years. And the neighborhood kids became his friends, so I wouldn’t say he was in need of socialization. And I don’t think his lengthy preschool period alone made him ready for the big school.
So I thought Nursery level was unnecessary - my son could have began at Kinder or Prep and there wouldn’t be any difference in his performance in Grade School today.
So our decision was to make our daughter skip Nursery, and begin at Kinder or even Prep.
But our little girl has other plans.
And she’s been saying that for weeks!
So I guess that’s it. She’s going to Nursery next year.
* She said, “I want a pink bag, and a small bag (I think she was referring to a lunchbox), and dami (10X) homework!”

hahaha! at least hindi kayo mahihirapan na iconvince siya na she has togo to school. let her study. kahit sa daycare lang. for interaction. then kinder tapos prep.

when i was young, i wasn’t enrolled with nursery but my mother told me that i would sit beside my older sister in her kinder classes. while i don’t see anything wrong with nursery, i just don’t like the idea that they’re charging so much for a few hours of play-learn-play. i have two nephews who are enrolled in kinder and prep and my sister is complaining that it’s like having two kids in college for all the fees she’s paying!

I’ve also thought of the same. Nursery, Kinder, Prep, parang pare pareho lang ng itinuturo. pero naman, pag ganyan na super excited pumasok sa school to do lots and lots of homework, aba, go ahead!

Aww, my son (same age) doesn’t want to go to school. He always says (oh, yells) “NO!” everytime we ask him if he wants to go to school. So I guess my plans of homeschooling him will be justified. Hehehe.
