I Have New Seeds
I’ve been looking for spring onion and kangkong seeds, so when I saw this packet by Ramgo Seeds in the hardware store, I immediately got myself one.

This pack contains 5 seeds: Bok Choi, Kale or Chinese Broccoli, Mustard, Spring Onions and Kangkong. It costs P129.75. A real bargain, since a packet of seeds usually costs P50-P70.
I saw 2 other kinds of Value Packs. There is the Chopsuey Pack which contains cabbage and sweet peas and 3 more kinds, and a Pinakbet pack, which contains squash, eggplant, string beans and 2 more which I forgot.
I did not buy those packs though, I was more interested in that pack of Chinese Leafy Greens. All of us here love all 5 veggies!
Some of you might be intrigued to know that kangkong comes in seed. I found out in one of the articles I’ve read on the net that there are two kinds of kangkong. There’s the one that grows on water and has big fat leaves. And then there’s the “upland” kangkong which grows on soil and has thin leaves. The latter is perfect for me.
I’m going to plant my seeds this weekend. Wish me luck!

Hi Cess. Good luck on your new planting endeavor. Picking homegrown vegetables must be very rewarding.

Yan ba yung kangkong na pointy yung leaves? Ganyan lang ang kangkong na nakikita ko dito. Ok naman siya, pareho lang din nga nung kangkong na usually kilala natin.
Yu choy, gusto mo? Hehehehe!

Hi Cess,
Just want to share some ideas. I have also planted some chinese kangkong (the one that gros in land, the roots of it I just got from the remains of the vegetable that we used in cooking our sinigang. I never expected it to grow, so you can just imagine my happiness when it did. So far, I’ve already harvested several times from it. And they are so healthy, ang lalaki ng dahon parang di chinese kangkong.

hi jo, thanks for the tip. i tried doing this once, kaso the kangkong stalk i used was the grow-on-water kind, kaya namatay din agad.
i will remember your tip when i’ve grown my kangkong, para di na ako bibili ng seeds. i hope the leaves will be as big as yours!

Kangkong is easy. I once planted bok choy, but slugs ate them. Sa gabi nila kinakain, tapos nagtatago sila sa ilalim ng tanim sa araw. I gave it up.

Was looking at Ramgo packest just yesterday but I saw only individual seed variety, not that kind.
Hmm…I am going to ask if that store has this.
