The Teepee
The ampalaya (bitter gourd) seedlings are ready to move out of the container.
But as I have mentioned in my previous post, we don’t have much land around the house. Growing vines may prove to be a challenge.
Thankfully, I did find some ideas on the net which could work for me. I excitedly bought some materials and was soon able to transfer the plants to a bigger container.
This is a teepee. It’s so easy, I’m sure you can do it too.
I got the bamboo sticks from a nearby gardening supplies store for PHP 10 a piece. The top was tied together with aluminum wire. The bottom part of each stick was secured on the pot, also with wire.
Thanks to my husband for putting these all together. Honestly, I cannot do that by myself
Now, cross your fingers with me and pray the plants will grow

I began blogging 4 years ago as a way of expressing myself. My faithful readers was a small circle of very close friends. I didn’t bother to inform people outside of this circle - this was just a blog anyway.
And then I made many good friends here and in other parts of the world. I switched from Blogspot to Wordpress. I began attending a few bloggers’ gatherings. And now, I am involved with The Filipino Mom Blog.
I never thought that blogging will open a whole new exciting world for me. Seems to me that I’ll be here for a long, long time.
And so, I decided to come out of hiding. It’s about time for my family and friends, the people I love so dearly, to see this side of me.
WELCOME! Come out from wherever you are and drop me a loving note!

Cess' husband:

HI TOOEY!
Hey guys, you know Tooey was my pen pal back in college!
We were “introduced” to each other by her best friend in high school, who was my blockmate.
We never got to meet bec she was in US. We got in touch again just recently through Friendster.
At last, I was able to put a name to the face
Thanks for visiting Tooey! Will follow your blog, too!

Great idea for a trellis, Cess. I haven’t planted ampalaya for a while, I should do it next year.
HA! You are now out of hiding. Good for you.

we have ampalaya in our garden, too! we planted them inside the green house though, kaya ayun, parang jungle na yung green house namin, heheh. but we’ve harvested some of the fruits already.
and oh, happy to know your husband supports you, my husband is still skeptic about blogging

Ampalaya teepees (instead of trellises or balags) — what a clever idea. Wish you a good harvest, Ces. How sweet to harvest from your own backyard di ba? Sweet ampalaya!
Congrats for the group blog ..i have gone there already. Wow!
