Dinosaurs 3D in IMAX

Many thanks to Noemi, because I won 5 tickets  to Dinosaurs 3D, Giants of Patagonia in IMAX, Mall of Asia.

We’ve never been to IMAX prior to my winning the raffle. Hubby and I made plans but they never pushed thru, so this was the perfect opportunity.

The screen alone was amazing. A speaker said MOA has the biggest 3D screen in the IMAX circuit – that info is also in Wikipedia.

So we got to wear these 3D glasses. Aren’t they neat? Unfortunately, we had to return them after the show. Sigh, the glasses would have been a lovely souvenir.

I noticed that these glasses are bigger and sturdier than the other 3D glasses I’ve seen before. Which was perfect because any which way I rolled my eyes, it was like I was in that movie too! Great 3D glasses plus the largest 3D IMAX screen – the cinema became Patagonia!

When the dinosaurs stomped their feet, I had to fight the urge to duck! When the archaeologists studied dino prints and bones, it felt like I was part of the team. We swam with the dinos,  flew with them, and admired their little babies.

We were thrust right in the middle of dino world, my 3- year old daughter screamed, “I’m scared!” But halfway thru the movie, she got the hang of it and even said hello to ”my Petrie!,” a character in Land Before Time.

It was a great experience for all of us. The 2-hour travel from our place to MOA was worth it. In fact, we are already looking at IMAX’s schedule for the next 3D movie. I want more 3D!
