Back Home

It feels great to be back home. You see, I’ve been out everyday for almost a week now- errands here, papers there, work work work, here and there- that I have neglected my home. I’m glad to have this day to get back to homekeeping, finish my chores, and make home feel like home again.

I had less than 7 hours of sleep today but I woke up full of energy! I just finished the laundry, I’ll deal with ironing in a couple of hours, and I gotta make my floor sparkle. The bitter gourds are ready to get out of their tiny pot, and I need to plant some basil for friends.

My plate is full today, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish all I plan to do within 24 hours. But so far, my schedule says I’ll be home tomorrow so there’s no pressure. Besides, I am my own boss. *winks*

Don’t get me wrong, I love going out. But there’s something about going out that wearies me,  I would need some time to unwind and recharge. And my home is the best place for that.

You might think it’s odd that I find doing housework relaxing. How can I unwind at home when I have a list of chores? Yes, it’s tiring, but all in all, I really find the work soothing.

When I am able to put the house in order, it’s like I’m putting my mind in order. When I do the laundry, it’s like washing away my worries. When I iron the clothes, it’s like I straighten out my frayed nerves, all brought by the stress of the things I did outside of home.

But I have little breaks every now and then (like right now, I’m on a break). All work and no play is not for me.

I do get lazy some days, but today is not that day. My home needs some lovin’ and I’m ready to give it! Now excuse me, I’m going to de-clutter my mind by sweeping the floor.

Wow, housework is therapy for you? Good for you (and your family!). It’s the opposite for me - my nerves get frayed when I iron, hehe. Joke.
The only chore I really love to do is cooking. Period. :D

I am the opposite. I hate housework, but I gotta do it, otherwise my house would be dusty and messy. For me therapy is sleeping. LOL

I don’t really do housework these days. I admire you. I just order the mails around and teach them chores to do.

I love to be home too but I don’t particularly enjoy doing housework. And why we don;t have a helper yet is a contradiction. I am just glad we have a reliable and inexpensive laundry shop where we can entrust our clothes to be washed, folded and ironed.

The rest is all up to me, and the kids of course, for they too need to do some chores.

Have a great week, Cess :)

I love staying at home too. when there are days at work na I need to extend hours, my source of motivation to finish work stuff is home. parang: sige na nga, tapusin ko na tong trabaho para makauwi na ako sa bahay at makapag relax. relax as in linis ng bahay. :)
