Finally, The Sun Is Out!

I was in the backyard this morning when I saw something on the ground that I had not seen in days. My shadow! I looked up and saw the sign peeking behind the clouds.

The storm is gone, the sun is out. “YAY!” I shouted. I jumped. I swear! I was so happy to see the sun I couldn’t contain myself, I had to let out a whoop of joy.

There was plenty of still-damp laundry, so I hung them out to dry. I hummed a happy tune, knowing that in a few hours, the clothes would be all dry and sweet-smelling.

I love hanging clothes in the backyard to dry. Hanging the clothes on the line, securing them with a pin, watching the rays of the sun do its job from the kitchen window while sipping a glass of juice. Hours later, I’ll have dry clothes with the fresh smell of sunshine. How very relaxing.

But I was not the only one enjoying the weather.

I have never seen such an interesting bug. It had lovely colors of gold, green and pink. But it must be a shy bug because it walked away quickly as I took some pictures.

Right now, I have plantain bananas simmering in sugared water on the stove. A simple sweet snack which I think is just perfect to celebrate this fine, sunny day.

We have too much sunny days here. In fact, at times we’re reaching a scorching 100 F (38 C) degrees, and clothes hanging in the backyard would only take about an hour to dry. We need rain.

Nice, even if I don’t like bugs, I like taking photos of them :)

I miss the scent of sundried clothes (nagpapalaundry kasi kami) but the children don’t like the texture, magaspang daw :D

What a simple post, beautifully written .. that talks of simple pleasures. It is a gift we all have, to delight in the good things in life, the best of which are free.

I looked and looked and I thought it was some sort of flora. God really makes beautiful stuff, ha.

having seen the sun after days of rains gives us a good feeling, but when the sun started to get hot, overly hot, that’s another thing. we just had a fire drill outside and we can smell the sun on our skin! yay!

I appreciate when the sun is out and the gray clouds are no where in sight. I agree that clothes dried under the sun smell more refreshing. Great shot of that lovely bug.

Hi friend, yeah like you I’m waiting for the sunshine. But when it’s already 9 or 10am, I would rather stay inside na. It’s really getting so hot, nakakapaso. I got sick after I fetch my kids in school, they’re out by 2pm, di ko nakaya ang init. Had colds and headache kagad…Btw, nice pic of the bug.
