Homemade Beef Tapa
We have just finished eating Beef Tapa. And believe me, it tastes mm… good! I say - the best tapa I have ever cooked.
What made this tapa different from those I’ve cooked before is that this isn’t packaged tapa, nor marinated in a mix picked up from the grocery.
I made the marinade myself. Homemade goodness, none of the chemical preservatives.
I got the recipe from Noemi’s food blog but I varied it a little bit. I added a tablespoon more of garlic and soy sauce and had the beef sit in the marinade for 48 hours instead of overnight. Which wasn’t intentional - I completely forgot about the beef in the fridge and remembered it on its 2nd day.
I’ll never buy convenience beef tapa again.

mmm, looks good! gonna take a look at the recipe (^_^)

wow Cess, the photo, it’s making me drool right now!
marinated for 48 hours? thanks to your forgetfulness. sabi nila, mas masarap daw ang tapa ang mas matagal marinated.
love Wenchie’s idea. red egg din at sinangag at suka ang naiimagine ko for that tapa.

yes actually the longer you marinate it the better. And more garlic tastes so much better! It’s so much better to make your own tapa!

Sarap! Sirloin is easy to chew though a bit expensive.
I do this too but I use muscovado sugar and oyster sauce in the marinade.

Kakatimpla ko lang 2 days ago nyan, nasa freezer pa yung kalahati, favorite din kasi yan ni tin-tin pwera sa tocino. Yan ang kagandahan ng homemade walang preservatives.

I’ve been a constant follower of your blog, but had never made any comment yet. Seeing your tapa, I decided to do my own version. It turned out great. Thanks for sharing.

I guess I have to go over to Noemi’s to see the recipe.
There are still names to go before I reach her blog. haha … i do my blog visits in alpha order kasi eh. but not anymore, as i will soon begin using a reader.
I love beef tapa with steaming rice na binahogan ng gatas ng kalabaw. It’s my ultimate comfort food.

pwede malaman what does noemi means when she said put water before
frying para malambot… is that put water and boil the tapa first and then put oil?

i think so. i do that method in frying meat.
but i did not do that when i made this tapa. the tapa turned out very tender already. im not sure - maybe bec it was in the marinade for a longer period of time.
