is my husband my type?
Jane saw this in her daughter’s blog, and couldn’t resist answering it. Noemi followed suit. They wanted to see if their husbands are their type of guys, at least based on the questionnaire.
Well, me too! I want to see if my husband fits the picture of my type of guy when I was still single and available and looking. Let’s find out shall we?
|
THE QUALITY |
MY ANSWERS WHEN I WAS STILL LOOKING | MY IPAN |
| Suplado | No. | He isn’t, but his being reserved is mistaken by a few as being suplado. |
| Mr. Shades | No. I love eye contact. | He has one, but I can count on one hand the number of times he has worn it. |
| Masculado | Not really. | He is not. |
| Guy who gives flowers | Not really, I’m the practical kind of girl. Flowers wilt, sayang ang pera. | He isn’t. Well, he gave me a bouquet a month into our relationship. No more flowers as soon as he found out they don’t really make me swoon. I admit though that I wish he would repeat the gesture, like once every 5 years. |
| Smiling Face | Big smiles for me and family. Small smiles for everyone else. | Fit to a T. |
| Hiphop | No. Ballroom , yes. | He dances the hiphop when he wants to make me laugh. He can do ballroom. |
| Asks permission before courting | Not required. | He didn’t ask for permission. Long story. But the short version of it is that he didn’t have to. |
| Has earring/s | No. | At one point he had one. Hmp. |
| Chews bubblegum | No. | He doesn’t. |
| Long hair | No. | He never tried. |
| Bald | No. | Not in the family. But if he ever loses his hair in the future, mahal ko pa rin siya. |
| Antipatiko | No. | No one would call him as such. |
| Torpe | No. I’m action-oriented | No, but he was, well, a little slow when we were at that stage. So I took the reins. |
| Computer games addict | No | He doesn’t play at all. |
| Basketball player | It doesn’t matter | He plays but not regularly. |
| Mr. Count-my-ex’s-till-you-drop | No. | He isn’t. though I know the names and the profiles of the girls he dated before me. I asked. |
| Mestizo | No. Ewan ko ba, hindi ko type ang tisoy. | He isn’t. |
| Sings well | Not required, but a plus. | He sings quite well. |
| Quiet | Quiet on the outside, can be talkative with me. | Chooses words with other people. Lets loose when alone with me. |
| Cum laude | Not really. More like a smart guy who values education. | Not a cum laude. But he is financially smart. |
| Formal | Between too casual and formal, formal it is. But not to the point of stiffness. | He describes himself as formal, but not stiff. |
| Friendly | Not overly-friendly to the point of sending me to paranoia land. | He is reserved and calls himself formal, remember? |
| Mr. I have an opinion about everything | No. | He isn’t. |
| Motorcycle guy | No! | He knows how to ride one,but would never dream of owning one. |
| Rocker | No. | He isn’t. |
| Skateboarder | No. | He isn’t. |
| Alaskador | As long as he is sensitive enough to know when to stop. | He teases, but very careful not to overstep boundaries. He is not an alaskador. Reserved nga. |
| Flirt | NO! NO! NO! | He is not. When he was courting me, he wasn’t flirting with me. Sounds weird, but that’s the truth. Reserved nga. |
| Mr. Campus Crush | It doesn’t matter. | He was. Well, he said he was. |
| Bigotilyo | No, especially if styled! | He isn’t. And he shaves facial hair religiously. |
| Painter | Why not? But if he makes a living out of it, I might not allow things to get serious. | He prepares my son’s drawings for school – that’s it. |
| Galante | Within limits. | He isn’t. But he is to me. |
| Mr. Love letter | A big plus! | I have a stack of old love letters from him. He doesn’t write letters anymore, but do text messages and emails count? |
| Maporma | No. | He isn’t. |
| Talks too much | Because we’re having a happy conversation, ok. | He talks a lot about stuff, but not too much, though there are rare times that it becomes too much. I can and will tolerate because he shares these things with me. |
| Soccer hottie | I don’t understand soccer. | He isn’t. |
| Anti-Christ | No. | I became a regular churchgoer and joined religious orgs because of his influence. |
| Mama’s boy | No. | He isn’t. |
| Hangs out with friends a lot | A lot? Then no. | Only on special occasions. |
| Mysterious Guy | No. I value transparency. | He isn’t. If he ever was our relationship would not have led to marriage. I dislike being made to feel uncertain. |
| Cute Idiot | No. | Cute yes. Idiot definitely not. |

| Wide Vocabulary | Yes. | Average. But very wide if business-speak. |
| Loves You | And only me. | No doubt about it. |
| Tennis guy | It doesn’t matter. | He isn’t. |
| Dark skin | It doesn’t matter. | He is. |
| Tall | As long as he remains taller than me when I wear heels. | Tall enough I can wear any heel height. |
| Chubby | As long as he is not grotesquely overweight. | He wasn’t. He is now thanks to the kids’ leftovers. But not overweight. |
| Hairy | Not very hairy, but not totally hairless. I don’t like chest hair. | Hairy, normal hairy. No chest hair! |
He gets 48 out of 50. I married my type of guy then
