6 weird things
 (I was tagged by Auee.)
1. I remember plate numbers.
Ipan and I would see a white Toyota Corolla with the plate number U __-___ in the middle of EDSA or a maroon FX with plate number T __-___ in a parking lot and I would say that the car owners hail from where we live.
How do I know, he would ask. Well, I always see the cars when I bring Ipan Jr to school.
Why do I even bother taking note of the plate numbers? I swear IÂ have no idea.
2. I don’t squish a cockroach.
I go through the effort of looking for the insecticide. In case I’ve run out, I use a broom and sweep it outside the door.
3. A friend is telling me how mad he/she is about someone, and I feel the urge to laugh.Â
I see the humor in the things he/she may find irritating. Thankfully, I’m not weird enough to stifle a laugh when it seems my friend would not appreciate it.
Though sometimes I can’t help letting out a guffaw. Or two.
4. I don’t like it when people do what I do.
My sisters know this all too well, and they sometimes do it on purpose just to tease me. One time I saw a nice woven hat from Baguio. They bought one just like it even when I told them not to. I didn’t wear my hat afterwards.
Imitation is supposed to be a compliment, but I feel uncomfortable with it. Same reason why I rarely follow fads. If I do, I choose the least popular  among the selections in a fad.
5. I put Vicks Vaporub on my nose all the time.
I have a big jar of Vicks in my bag so I can bring it wherever, and a small jar that can fit in a purse I use for weddings. You know we’ve been friends a long time if I’m no longer embarassed to put Vicks on my nose in front of you.Â
Don’t worry I just put some on the tip of my nose. I don’t reach for my brains.
6. When I’m in deep thought, my mouth moves.
Imagine how I look like when I’m in deep thought along the sidewalk.
You want the world to know you’re weird too? Then I tag you.

sassy mom:
Funny, were the same on plate numbers! Some of my friends find it really weird. The vicks vaporub, ahh, that’s my hubby’s
nightly routine.
LC: yay! we have things in common, weird nga lang, hehehe.

Thanks for the list … nice to know more about Lady Cess.
You remember plate numbers … oh wow! I haven’t memorized my cell phone number that I’ve had for years.
I can identify with your need to be different. But me — I kind of like it when others follow. Flattered? yes. But I guess with possessions like bags, clothes and yes hats … i can understand why you get miffed.
LC: pwede kang trend-setter AM, ako hindi. siguro i wouldnt want the people around me to do what i do in my presence. or perhaps they can do what i do when im done doing it. pero hindi naman lahat ng bagay.

Haha! Ang galing naman ng memory mo. And now I know who I will go to pag sumakit ang ulo ko at magkasama tayo. When one’s mouth moves while in deep thought, I guess that’s passion.
LC: im a passionate person? pwede! thanks lynn.

I like the smell of Vicks too! when I was pregnant it was the only thing that could take the edge off the nausea. While sitting on the MRT singhot ako nang singhot sa Vicks inhaler haha. Pareho tayo, Eau de Vaporub ang pabango
Galing naman ng memory mo sa plate numbers. Sa cockroach naman, don’t you think squishing them with your slipper is more satisfying? Or maybe you’re the practical type, mas madali nga naman linisin kung insecticide ang ginamit na pampatay
LC: yup, i guess that’s it. if it’s squished, therefore there’s grime. ayoko linisin

mom, don’t u use vicks inhaler? i think better than rubbing a “grease”
LC: hindi ko alam vince, i really prefer the “grease” than the inhaler. hehehe. weird nga ako e.
and…. what sort of deep thought that makes your mouth move? how?
LC: like when im reading a book. my mouth moves as i read. nangyayari din sa akin yan.

We’re the same with plate numbers….pati istura ng cars… namememorize ko. Just don’t let me memorize birthdays, mahina ako dun e.
Then with people imitating me, my japorms, my style, my whatever… I hate that. One time, an officemate (asar na asar pa man din ako sa kanya) bought a blouse na kamukha nun sa akin (color lang pinagkaiba). Take note: una akong bumili. she saw my blouse, then the following week, suot na niya!!!!! Argh!!!!! Tapos sabay sabi, ay pareho tayo. EXCUSE ME! mas maganda akong magcarry nun blouse na iyon!!!! (obvious ba na galit???)
LC: hahaha! sana hindi na siya nagpatay-malisya at inamin na lang niya na she got the idea from you.
oops, im laughing. sabi sa yo weird ako e.

I also don’t like squishing a cockroach. I try to find the insecticide and spray with all my might. I hate those bugs!
My mom is fond of Vicks so when we were little I was used to the smell. Would you believe I send her Vicks sa States pag may uuwi?
LC: i can imagine your mom’s reaction when she sees the vicks
kasi ganon din ako malamang

My DS Julian is good with plate numbers but he is even better in naming the make, even engine names of cars. Who would have though an EG6 is a Honda Civic Hatchback or an AE101 is a Toyota Corolla or an FD3S a Mazda RX-7? He knows these details.
Hmm… I’m thinking about doing this tag for a change,
LC: ang galing! henyo na ang anak mo - or expensive ang future hilig, hehehe! do the tag!

Love the new details about you Lady Cess!
I actually recognize plate numbers that I usually see when out on the road. Sometimes I would recognize if its the same plate number I saw earlier in the mall car park or in church or in school. But this is just for a few cars, much like when you recognize the plate number of a relative’s.

if you don’t like squishing cockroaches…ako naman gustong gusto kong pumatay nung gagambang bahay na malaki, yung kulay itim… actually takot kasi ako dun, so bago pa niya ako maunahan na gapangan niya ako, o biglang tumalon sa akin, kahit nananahimik lng sya, talagang pinapalo ko sya ng tsinelas para patay agad…more than 50 spiders na yata ang napatay ko… basta every time na nakakakita ako nun, sa bahay man o s opis, hindi ako tumitigil hanggang hindi ko sya napapatay! wierd… :p

Wow ha! You have a photographic memory! We’re the same sa number 3. Haahaha… Ako naman my friends know that I really laugh when they’re mad. It’s sort of defusing their anger kaya naman ganon ako. Hehee… And dun sa number 5? Hahahaha… I don’t put it all the time naman but when I feel the need to relax a bit, I put some. Nakaka-relax kasi hehe
Happy Monday, Cess!

I love your site. Found it through PMN. It’s weird (no pun intended) but I can relate to some of your weirdness too.
#2 use the Alligator brand. It doesn’t smell as bad.
#4 I’ve spent money on useless purchases just to make sure that some “gayagaya” people around me won’t copy
#5 mas type ko Katinko
#6 lalo na when I’m texting or posting.
Cheers!!
LC: hi kongkong! glad to have met you. alam mo pareho tayo - ive had useless purchases na rin, at gumagalaw din ang bibig ko when im texting or posting. nakagamit na rin ako ng katinko. hahaha!

ako rin vicks addict , pero ako naglalagay lang ako before I sleep, or kapag nasa bahay lang ako. sarap ng feeling parang ang luwag sa paghinga. when I got married medyo naalis ko yung habbit na yun kasi nahihiya ako kay hubby pero sa umpisa lang hehehe ngayon medyo matagal narin naman kami kaya okay na wala na akong hiya hiya. though he hates the smell of vicks, nakasanayan narin nya amoy vicks lagi katabi niya sa gabi, hahaha!

one of my daughters loves the feel of vicks rubbed at her back, sometimes she stuffs it in her nose, too. maybe, it gives one sense of relief.
about not liking people who imitate, i pose a question–what if it were your own son or daughter who does the imitating?

if you can remember plate numbers, then you’re maybe related to jason bourne, he can memorize 5 plate numbers while sitting in a restaurant (okey, it’s just a movie).
vicks! i remember my mom put some on our nose and in our stomachs when a rain is about to start, para raw di maamoy yung singaw ng lupa, hanggang ginagawa ko pa rin hehehe.
