lessons from the boob tube
My computer crashed.
I lost about 6 months worth of files and pictures and drafts. Tapos na akong mag-grieve. Wala na akong magagawa e. When my husband broke out the news buti na lang I was watching Grey’s Anatomy. Iniisip ko na lang, I lost files lang, ayon sa Grey’s Anatomy, patients die everyday in the hospital. O diba, hanep sa perspective.

I was able to watch the movie “Babel” in DVD. Actually hindi lang Babel ang napanood ko, as you know now I watched Grey’s Season 3, and there was Little Miss Sunshine, The Departed, The Sentinel, Hotel Rwanda,…Â you get the drift. Marami.
 Anyway, I cannot forget Babel, because basically it was about just one (supposedly harmless) action that brought drastic changes to the lives of… uh, let’ see… at least 15 people around the globe, not counting the police and the government.Â
 I can’t shake the feeling that every thing, every little thing I do has an impact on people around me. This movie has made me think about the things I did in the past, I was wondering what were the consequences to people I know, even strangers.Â

In Little Miss Sunshine, a young man said he wished he could sleep for years, so he could skip high school and all the crap that goes with it.
His uncle’s response moved me, I took the effort to copy the subtitles and share it with you.
You know Marcel Proust? French writer. Total loser. Never had a real job. Unrequited love affairs. Gay. Spent years writing a book almost no one reads. But he is probably the greatest writer since Shakespeare.
He gets down to the end of his life. And he looks down and decides that all those years he suffered, those were the best years of his life because they made him who he was.
This is so cliche but I feel I must still say, we should be thankful for troubles coming our way because these are opportunities to make us better persons.

After I watch a good movie, I don’t want to watch another one for at least 3-4 days. I would replay it in my mind and imagine the great scenes and conversations.

sikat yang Grey’s Anatomy,,,wala dito nyan, sky cable ko lang is TFC waaah. im missing a lot!!! The Sentinel napanood ko na, yung Hotel Rwand gusto ko rin panoorin yan,wala pa rito.

Hi Cess. I’m glad to see you back online. I’m really sorry to hear about your computer and your precious files. But it’s good that you see it in a better light. I agree, there are more precious things in this world that we should be grateful for.
I watched the Season 3 (episodes 1-17) of Grey’s Anatomy too. I love it pero bitin as usual. Who is your favorite character? I’m fascinated with Dr. Mark Sloan. I don’t know but I always have this thing when it comes to ‘bad’ guys.
I also watched Babel on DVD. It’s scary how something can alter your life in a snap of a finger.

Another movie buff! pareho pala tayo ms. cess… na download ko narin yang babel, little ms. sunshine, rob b good.. naka tambay lang sya sa harddisk.. (sana di masira ung pc, hehehe)..
personally, daming inspirations ang meron sa movies… Lastest movie that made me cry was ‘click’.. ung may super remote control?… In some way, naka relate ako eh.. after the moview, tinawagan ko agad tatay ko sa dammam.. told him I appreciate every sacrifice na ginawa/ginagawa nya para samin…
(sigh)… im downloading season 1 and 2 of Grey’s anatomy.. tagal ng Heroes eh..

Twice na akong muntik na magcrash ang hardisk, buti na lang was able to have a back-up, pero umiiyak na ako nun habang bina back-up.. hehehe.
grey’s anatomy… nakaline up yan sa mga papanoorin ko ah.. maganda nga daw. korean novela kase pinagkakaabalahan ko ngayon, just finished full house and princess hours. sunod na grey’s anatomy.. walang tulugan na naman to, kahit me pasok kinabukasan..hehehe
bout the question, wala pa namang akong ginagawa na makakapagpasira ng buhay ng isang tao, for good maybe, but i’m thinking now, do they really want that? geez, hirap gumawa ng mabuti..

Ang ganda ng Proust vignette. Ganun pala ang buhay nya … akala mo loser. REminds me of this Dutch painter .. Van Gogh, na unrecognized until his death. He never sold a single painting! Never loved that was returned. Ooooh

Babel is a good movie and it made me realize that brad pitt can act pala hehehe, if you like this movie, you’ll also appreciate inarrittu’s other work in 21 grams (stars sean penn and naomi watts), pero pauna ko na, mas mabigat sya kesa sa babel.
